Zipper Replacement in Tallinn
A broken zipper does not mean the jacket is finished. We replace the zipper and the garment goes back into use.
What usually goes wrong
A zipper usually fails in one of three places: the slider stops closing, the teeth are torn out in one section, or the zipper tape has come away from the seam. The rest of the garment is normally sound — a jacket whose zipper will not hold just ends up in the wardrobe.
What we do
We replace the zipper: the old one comes out, a new one is chosen to match the garment type, the length and the zipper width, and is sewn in. On lined garments there is more work, because the lining has to be opened to reach the zipper and closed again afterwards — which is why a jacket or coat costs more than trousers.

Does the whole zipper always have to be replaced?
That can only be said once we have seen the zipper. We look at the garment and tell you what it needs before starting. The prices listed are for replacing the zipper.
Is the zipper included in the price?
No. The amount in the price list is the labour. The cost of the zipper itself is added on top and depends on what the garment needs — length, width and type.
Why does a jacket zipper cost more than a trouser zipper?
A jacket zipper is longer and usually sits behind the lining. Reaching it means opening the lining and closing it again properly, which is considerably more work than swapping the short zipper in a pair of trousers.
Do you replace zippers on leather garments?
Yes. Women’s and men’s leather jackets and shearling coats have their own labour price in the list, because leather has to be sewn differently from textile.
